Women’s Shoes Trends 2011/2012

Women’s ShoesWe love shoes, that’s obvious, but what makes us keep buying more? Our shoes reflect our personalities. Whether we opt for chunky boots, jewelled flats or platforms there is the perfect shoe for every mood. Let’s take a look at the top trends we’ll be coveting this season.

Winter Boots

The on-trend boot of this season is without a doubt the knee high, and there is a style to suit everyone. Choose anything from chunky heeled biker boots to riding boots or cosy, shearling boots. The key to this boot is the detail. Anything goes this season, bows, Perspex heels, faux fur and shearling, buckles… the list is endless. Just don’t wear them all at once!

Day Shoes

For an on-trend day shoe try the metallic flat. Women’s shoes perfect for both the office and after work drinks, these are an evolution of the masculine trend. Brogues have replaced our much loved ballet pumps as the shoe of choice. Unfortunately for those of us refusing to give up our pumps – this trend is a stayer! As an alternative to masculine colours, at least the brogue has become a bit more feminine. But if you’re not convinced by brogues, metallic flats are now also available as smoking slippers and loafers.

Party Shoes

For the party season we’re spoilt for choice with the amount of women’s shoes on offer. Due to the huge number of different styles, heel heights and colour combinations, we’re left wondering where to start. So it wouldn’t be right to choose one perfect pair then, right? Here are the top three styles for the festive party season.

The block heel is the first top party shoe for this year. To be ahead in the fashion stakes, hide those stilettos and try something different. Every possible style this season comes with a block heel, including the platform, the shoe boot and the Mary Jane. These shoes are both on-trend and easier to walk in than teetering on pencil thin heels!

Wedges are another feet friendly style, as you get the height of a heel without losing the comfort. The wedge sole works well on anything from an open toe shoe boot to a strappy sandal – and is great if you’re looking for a rock chick vibe this party season. But for something a bit sparkly and distinctive, try jewel embellished and glitter wedges.

Talking of glitter, the glitter platform is a great option for girly girls. They are available in any shade, from subtle black to navy and even red if you’re looking for something more eye catching. A popular choice is the platform court shoe, but if you want to combine two trends opt for a block heel!

So that’s the top shoes for this season, which ones will you go for?
